Ghai Swee Ling, Founder of GSM Chicken Station
Founded by Ghai Swee Ling, GSM Chicken Station reflects a deep connection to her hometown of Segamat and a respect for its history. Inspired by the nostalgic charm of the old Segamat train station, Ms. Ghai envisioned a unique train-themed destination that preserves local heritage while offering comprehensive poultry services—from fresh farm chicken to ready-to-eat meals.
As a proud extension of Ghai Soo Ming Poultry Farm Sdn. Bhd., GSM Chicken Station combines agricultural expertise with a distinctive train-themed experience. Our commitment to excellence is evident in every product, ensuring that our poultry meets the highest standards of taste and freshness.
GSM Chicken Station is more than just a specialty poultry shop; it’s a cultural landmark celebrating Segamat’s rich heritage. It serves as a place where locals can reconnect with their past while enjoying high-quality poultry products.
Our Timeline
GSM Chicken Station began collaborating with the renovation team to develop the concept and design for its one-stop poultry specialty store.
The design idea for a train-themed one-stop chicken specialty shop, featuring a unique mural on the shop's external wall, was adopted and finalized. Our founder, Ghai Swee Ling selected a photograph from the Malayan Railway's website, taken on July 28, 1954, as the blueprint for the mural.
The design concept for GSM Chicken Station was approved and endorsed by local authority (YDP Majlis Perbandaran Segamat), setting the stage for the next phases of development.
GSM Chicken Station underwent initial renovations to prepare for the upcoming enhancements, including foundation works and adjustments to the drainage system.
Further touch-ups were completed to ready the external wall for the mural painting.
Work commenced on the external wall, and painting for the mural began on June 20, led by the renowned artist Mr. Tan Jian Siong.
GSM Chicken Station holds its soft opening, welcoming the first customers and introducing them to a unique blend of history and high-quality chicken products.
The “Train Across Time” Mural, located on the exterior wall of GSM Chicken Station was officiated by Malaysia’s Minister of Transport, YB Anthony Loke, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, YB Liew Chin Tong; Railway Assets Corporation CEO, YBhg. Dato' Azhar bin Ahmad; and Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly, YB Ng Kor Sim.
GSM Chicken Station celebrated its grand opening. The “Train Across Time” mural was officially recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records as the "Largest Train Mural," highlighting its significance as a key feature of our new location.
Led by the founder Ghai Swee Ling, GSM Chicken Station remains dedicated to celebrating Segamat’s heritage through its unique train-themed concept and offerings of premium chicken products.
The "Train Across Time" Mural

Initiated by GSM Chicken Station and located on the shop’s exterior wall, the “Train Across Time” Mural is a unique artwork that vividly depicts the meeting of a 1954 steam train and a 2024 modern train, symbolizing the passage of time and the evolution of Segamat’s train stations.
This mural is more than just an artwork; its intricate details, including authentic wooden railroad ties and classic train station elements, serve as a catalyst to draw visitors and reconnect locals with Segamat’s rich cultural heritage, celebrating the past while looking forward to the future.
